Douglas Lemire VMD

Dr. Doug Lemire purchased Oean Valley Veterinary Hospital in 2012 and has always had a life long dream of being a veterinarian and owning his own hospital.  He is a compassionate veterinarian who  has dedicated his life to the healing of animals.  Having graduated from the prestigious University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 1983, he then completed a rotating internship in medicine and surgery at the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1984.  After spending time in California, he became certified in veterinary acupuncture in 1990, animal chiropractic in l996 and veterinary homeopathy in l998 and studied extensively animal nutrition. His special interests are oral surgery, dental procedures and integrative medicine–the blend of traditional and alternative medicine.  He loves teaching and educating people about the best care possible for their pets.  Giving clients options on treating their pets is so very important for a veterinary practitioner.

Dr. Lemire married the love of his life, Julia a school teacher who also loves animals.  He has two lovely cats Missy and Socks whom he loves very much and enjoys skiing, hiking, art, music and cycling.  He and Julia live in Newbury, Ma and are excited about being closer to the wonderful people of the Stratham, NH

Vicky Sciortino is our new veterinary assistant/technician.  She  will be attending Great Bay Community College for her associates degree in veterinary technology.  Animals have always been her passion.
